The SNCAC NC.840 Chardonneret (sometimes known as the Aérocentre NC.840) was a 1940s French four-seat cabin monoplane.
Design and development
The NC.840 was the first post-war design from the Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Centre (SNCAC) company at Bourges.[1] Named the Chardonneret the NC.840 was a high-wing cabin monoplane powered by a 240 hp (179 kW) Renault 6Q.10 engine.[1] It had a tricycle landing gear and first flew on 3 November 1946.[1] A second aircraft designated the NC.841 was built with a Mathis 175H radial engine. Although the aircraft did not sell, the experience was used in the tailwheel landing gear NC.850.
